After a rather long transition from our Woodside
office to our Menlo Park office, we are currently undergoing
an internal makeover. Fernandez & Associates would like
to welcome Maritza Couto-Kidd to the team. Maritza, our
new associate and office manager, is joining our team since
relocating from Venezuela.
While we warmly welcome Maritza, we are also announcing
that Irene Hu, a Partner, is on sabbatical leave. Her return
date is yet to be determined.
While these transitions are currently taking place, Dennis
Fernandez, a known intellectual property and business strategist,
continues to serve as an advisor to numerous hot Silicon
Valley start-ups. Dennis plays a vital role in a lifespan
of a start-up by providing strategic advice, drawing from
his unique skills and experience as a technologist, a venture
capitalist, and a patent attorney. During his career, he
made stops at Fenwick & West, Walden Group, Digital
Equipment, and others.
Also playing a vital role is our Senior Patent Attorney,
Peter Su. Before joining Fernandez & Associates, Peter
practiced patent and intellectual property law at the general
practice firm of Fenwick & West, and the intellectual
property firm of Skjerven Morrill MacPherson Franklin &
Friel. He also worked as a design engineer at Advance Micro
Devices, and is a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa
Nu Fraternities.
Joe Hustein maintains his position as an Of Counsel with
knowledge in the fields of systems management, industrial
design, and electrical engineering.
Fernandez & Associates would also like to welcome Manny
Madriaga, Rambod Nader, and Leo Peters. They have recently
joined Mary Chow, Tim Huang, Renee Jocowitz, Steven Rechter,
Allen Samuels, and Steve Schulman—rounding out our
current patent prosecution team.
In addition, we welcome Jiajia Gu and Erik Olson, who have
joined the firm as patent clerks.
Fernandez & Associates welcomes each new member and
is looking forward to working with each individual. Fernandez
& Associates would also like to thank our current team
members for their dedication, creativity, and time.
